OUR SPECIALTHANKS:
TO: Aubrey Lusignan, a student at Toll Gate High School. In order to graduate with proficiency, Toll Gate, as well as other high schools in Warwick, require senior students to execute a senior project of their choice to present to a panel of judges from the community at the end of senior year. For her senior project she decided to put together a 5k race to raise money for Colon Cancer Awareness and Prevention. The subject is near and dear to her heart because her grandmother passed away at a very young age from the cancer and she now wants to help spread the word on Colon Caner Prevention in honor of her grandmother and to do something truly good for survivors of the cancer and those currently fighting it.
The Rose Nappa Colon Cancer Awareness 5K Walk/Run (Rosies Run) was held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at City Park in Warwick, RI. Aubrey did an outstanding job. It was an extremely cold day for April but she still brought in $3,695.56 with a total of $2,578.76, after expenses, being donated to the Colon Cancer Alliance, Voices of Rhode Island.
Vision: The Colon Cancer Alliance is a leader in eliminating the suffering and death caused by colorectal cancer.
Mission: The Colon Cancer Alliance is committed to ending the suffering and death caused by colorectal cancer. We will increase screening rates and survivorship by providing support and education and furthering research and advocacy efforts.
